Head of School, Mind Orbit Academy
Mind Orbit Academy envisions a future where every K–12 student achieves academic excellence and is fully prepared for higher education and career success.
The mission of Mind Orbit Academy is to provide a rigorous K–12 online learning experience that leverages innovative technology and delivery methods, ensures measurable outcomes, and offers a flexible and safe learning environment for all students.
Mind Orbit Academy is an independent private K–12 online school offering standards-aligned, competency-based instruction, career-oriented pathways, and one-to-one Intelligent Learning Coach support through advanced educational technologies on a secure learning platform.
Mind Orbit Academy does not operate a traditional in-person instructional program and does not participate in state scholarship or other taxpayer-funded K–12 tuition programs; published tuition applies in full to all enrolled students, including families residing in Florida. The program enrolls families in all 50 U.S. states and internationally, in line with the academic model summarized on the home page and detailed under Academics and Learn.
Through an online, competency-based model of learning supported by an adaptive learning platform, students engage in structured academic work while progressing at their own pace.
- Transparent access to progress data, assessment results, and documentation suitable for school records (as described for enrolled users in Learn).
- Competency-based progression with flexible pacing within Mind Orbit Academy's structured online program—aligned with the progression model summarized under Academics.
- Core subjects plus elective pathways and annual capstone expectations across grade bands, consistent with the public-facing outlines on the home page and in Learn.
- Enrollment and billing options with staff support: secure online payment or academy-arranged access when applicable; see Tuition & fees and Admission.
Elementary (Kindergarten–5): Students working toward grade-level mastery in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies in a fully online delivery model; documented instructional time; annual capstone or major project; promotion based on demonstrated competency (elementary promotion does not rely on Carnegie units—see Academics).
Middle school (6–8): Students earning Carnegie credit toward high school preparation (e.g., approximately four credits per year in typical pacing, with pathway-aligned capstones as published in program outlines).
High school (9–12): College-preparatory diploma pathway—commonly 24–26+ total credits in typical programs; annual capstones including senior year; honors and Advanced Placement where offered and consistent with course availability.
Core instruction, practice, and recorded assessments are delivered online through Mind Orbit Academy's learning management system and related tools—the same environment enrolled students access through Learn. Families may participate from their chosen location where connectivity and Academy policies permit. Enrollment is limited to applicants who satisfy published admission criteria and applicable state and federal expectations for private online education.
Curriculum design and academic oversight are led by doctoral-level faculty and researchers, consistent with the emphasis on evidence-aligned scope and sequence elsewhere on this site. U.S. instructional personnel meet credentialing expectations appropriate to their assignments (typically a bachelor's degree or higher in the field or equivalent, where applicable).
Students receive individualized support through the Intelligent Learning Coach—adaptive, one-to-one instructional assistance integrated with online coursework—alongside subject-area instruction and assessment as described in Learn and program materials.
